You Matter To God

Here’s what’s up: you need to know how God sees you:

Before the world saw you, God did.
Before others named you, God knew you.
Before you took your first breath, God declared your worth.

You are valued and you matter to Him! You’re not an accident, In Jeremiah 1:5 God says He knew you before He, Himself formed you in your mother’s womb.

In Psalm 139:13-14, the Psalmist says, For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

He knitted you in your mother’s womb (this is the same God that created the universe…that same God took the time to create you) you are fearfully & wonderfully made. A complex, wonderful work.

Ephesians 2:10 says, For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

You are created with purpose and are a beloved masterpiece of God, known and loved even before your birth.

You are made in His image. The Bible doesn’t say He made anything else in His image, not mountains, oceans, trees, plants or animals…only you. Psalm 19:1 even says the heavens reflect the glory of God, BUT, they do not reflect His image. only you, bear His likeness!

Maybe some of you have, unfortunately, grew up with or have been around others who did not say encouraging or uplifting things to you or about you. Don’t worry about nor be concerned about other people‘s opinion of you, God’s is the only one that matters. Romans 14:12 and 1 Peter 4:5 say you will stand before Him and give an account of yourself, not them! They will have to stand before Him also! Also, let me make this crystal clear: Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth! The value of something is based on who owns it and what someone is willing to pay for it.

Someone paid $2.2 million for a pair of Air Jordan’s that Michael Jordan wore in a game.
Someone paid $1.3 million for a guitar that belonged to Elvis Presley,
Michael Jackson’s Thriller Jacket sold for $1.8 million.

It was just a pair of sneakers, a guitar and a jacket, but the value came from who these items belonged to. As a Christian, you were purchased, not with money, not with dollars, not with gold or diamonds, no, but with the precious Blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the King of kings and Lord of lords!

John 3:16-17 says, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. ¹⁷For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

1 Corinthians 6:20 says For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body ^[^a^]and in your spirit, which are God’s.

In 1 Peter 1:18, 19, I’m paraphrasing, but it says “Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold … but with the precious blood of Christ”.

God had a plan of redemption and He said I will give my one and only Son (would you do that for the people you know? He not only died to save you, but, Romans 5:8 says He did it while we were still in our sin, while we were at our worst! That is the true definition of unconditional love!). Jesus paid the price, if you believe, I say again, if you believe Jesus Died for your sins on the cross and was resurrected three days later, then you are made right in God’s sight and you are the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ!

Why did He do it, why did He pay that much, because this is ALL ABOUT HIM AND who He is! First, and foremost, He is Love (see 1 John 4:8,16), God displays that kind of love that is inexplicable and everlasting and true love can’t help but express itself!

Jeremiah 31:3 says, …“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you”.

Next it’s because He made you:

Job 33:4 says, The Spirit of God has made me;
the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

He breathed life into you and you are His design! He said I will do that for My creation because I love them and value them so much that they are worth dying for so they can be saved and spend eternity in heaven with Me. At the cross, Jesus took your wrongness and gave you His rightness, He thought that much of you and that makes you priceless!

Ephesians 2:4–7 says, But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ … that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Scripture shows human value and worth are established by God, who created humanity in His image (Genesis 1:27) and loves us intensely, even redeeming us through Christ’s blood. Our worth is not based on earthly possessions or appearance but on God’s unwavering love.

As a matter of fact, in 1 Peter 2:9, we are called God’s special possession.

How God sees us –

John 1:12. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

In 1 Peter 2:9, we are called God’s special possession. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.

In Psalm 17:8, we are the apple of His eye: Keep me [in Your affectionate care, protect me] as the apple of Your eye;
Hide me in the [protective] shadow of Your wings

1 Corinthians 15:53-57 Amplified Bible

⁵³For this perishable [part of us] must put on the imperishable [nature], and this mortal [part of us that is capable of dying] must put on immortality [which is freedom from death]. ⁵⁴And when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the Scripture will be fulfilled that says, “Death is swallowed up in victory (vanquished forever). ⁵⁵O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” ⁵⁶The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin [by which it brings death] is the law; ⁵⁷but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory [as conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁵⁸Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].

Now, start seeing yourself as God sees you, receive His love, know that you are valued and Go Live The Victorious life that Jesus died to give you!

Dillon Burroughs said “The Bible’s message is that you matter to God. Our response is that God should matter to us.”

If you are a child of the Most High, you are the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus! We just need to always remember that and start acting like it.

With that said, the Bible is not just to be read and believed, It is wisdom, truth and knowledge and IT IS TO BE LIVED! Christianity is a lifestyle. In Him is life (see John 1:4), be accountable, be correctable and let the Holy Spirit sanctify you and edify you.
