What Is Important To God

The most important things to God, according to the Bible, is, first and foremost love, then faith and also justice, mercy and to be humble and in relationship with Him.

The first and greatest Commandment is to love Him with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. The second is to love your neighbor (that is, unselfishly seek and want the best for others),

and the third, the new commandment Jesus gave in John 13:34 is that we love one another as He loved us. This love (the Greek word agape) is not so much about emotion as it is about doing things for the benefit of another person, that is, having an unselfish concern for another and a willingness to seek the best for him or her. This is about action!

1 John 3:18 [AMP] says, let us not love with word or with tongue [giving lip service to compassion], but in action and in truth [in practice and in sincerity, because practical acts of love are more than words].

Why is this? Because God is Love, 1 John 4:8 [AMP] says, The one who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love. [He is the originator of love, and it is an enduring attribute of His nature.]

Next, I mentioned faith, Hebrews 11:5 says, And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. The second half of John 3:16 tells us whoever believes and trusts in Jesus as Savior shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Finally, Micah 6:8 says, He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you

Except to be just

To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?

Zechariah 7:9-10 (NKJV) says, “Thus says the Lord of hosts:

‘Execute true justice,
Show [a]mercy and compassion
Everyone to his brother.
10 Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless,
The alien or the poor.
Let none of you plan evil in his heart
Against his brother.’

Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) says, But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

And I would like to add regarding loving yourself and loving others, please make sure you don’t say think or do anything that doesn’t add value to your own life or to the lives of others!

When all is said and done, regarding what is important to God, I’ll leave you with this, If Someone is important to you, you will spend time with them. And If something is important to you, you will do it!

God loves you, make sure you’re loving Him back!
