Now faith is confidence in God and His word. It is the God-given present assurance of a future reality, the confirmation, of things hoped for, divinely guaranteed, and the evidence of things not seen.

The beginning point of faith is trusting in God’s character; He is who He says He is.

The next part is trusting in His promises, He will do what He says He will do. A big part of that is obviously knowing what He says, and that comes from reading His word.

Numbers 23:19 and Romans 10:17 tell us “God is not a man, that He might lie, or a son of man, that He might change His mind. Does He speak and not act, or promise and not fulfill?”. So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

And during the waiting stage of waiting for God to fulfill His plan, purpose or promises, wait expectantly, trusting in His Track record…He has come through for you over and over in the past and there is NO REASON to think He will not come through this time!

1 Chronicles 16:10-12 and Psalm 33:4-5 say,

10 Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
11 Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face continually [longing to be in His presence].
12 Remember [with gratitude] His marvelous deeds which He has done,
His miracles and the judgments from His mouth,

For the word of the Lord is right and true;
He is faithful in all He does.

He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord.

Notice that feelings are not mentioned. Faith in God and your feelings do not go hand in hand. Satan wants you to focus on your feelings, God wants you to focus on His truth.

Feelings can change with circumstances, but faith is based on God, who never changes and the unchanging truth of His word.

Hannah Whitall Smith states that “believing when we neither see, nor hear, nor feel is faith” and that faith often requires believing “against our feelings”.

Faith is like when you have a birthday coming up. You were both excited and anxious because, without seeing anything, but based on what has happened over past birthdays, you didn’t just think or hope…YOU KNEW you had something to look forward to and you were going to get something! Some things you asked for and strongly believed you were getting and some things would be a surprise, but you were fairly confident that Your parents were not going to let you down…and that was whether you were naughty or nice.😉

Matthew 7:11 tells us, If you then, being evil as you are, that is sinful by nature, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give what is good and advantageous to those who keep on asking Him.

Birthdays combine confidence and certainty along with expectation, certainty and excitement and so does faith!

Now, it is by this same kind of faith, that is, with an inherent trust and enduring confidence in the power, wisdom and goodness of God, that the men and woman of the Bible in the Hall of Faith, see Hebrews 11, they all attest to the value of living by faith and, in the process of doing so, gained divine approval.

True faith works in obedience to God in the face of the unseen. However, without faith it is impossible to walk with God, to be in relationship with Him and please Him, for whoever comes near to God must, by necessity, believe that He exists, and this is not just any God, but the God of scripture, the God of the Bible…of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the only real and true God and, along with that…Hebrews 11:6 tells us this, He rewards those who earnestly and diligently seek Him. Believing that He exists is only the beginning because even the demons believe that He exists (see James 2:19-20). God wants you to seek Him for an intimate, personal relationship and, not seek Him for His hand (only seeking Him, for a hand-out, when you need something), but for His face.

Psalm 27:8 AMP says, When You said, “Seek My face [in prayer, require My presence as your greatest need],” my heart said to You,
“Your face, O Lord, I will seek [on the authority of Your word].”

And according to Deuteronomy 4:29 (NKJV), But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Psalm 37:3-5 and Psalm 58:11 say, Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord;
Trust in Him also and He will do it.

Then at last everyone will say,
“There truly is a reward for those who live for God;
surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.”

Included in the rewards for diligently seeking God include the ultimate prize of Himself, His presence (see Genesis 15:1), forgiveness and righteousness!

In the end, it’s not an action or an event, necessarily, but the reality that grounds our faith, is the God who fulfills His promises. Know Him, Trust Him, and, with faith in Him, you will always Win!

Remember, the bible is not just to read, believed and/or memorized, but…IT IS TO BE LIVED! Now Go Live the Victory!
